Education, 2006 Community Building and Identity Development Through Graduate Coursework in Engineering EducationAbstractThe new engineering education graduate degree program at Purdue University is a pipeline foreducating future engineering faculty and professionals interested in pursuing careers that supportresearch-based engineering education reform. The first cohort of doctoral seeking students wasadmitted in Fall 2005. Two courses were developed to address community building and identitydevelopment in this new field of study. Research Associate Professor in Academic Affairs. Dr. Streveler holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Master of Science in Zoology from the Ohio State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Indiana University at Bloomington.
