L.B. Bosman, J. Brinker, and K.A. WalzAbstract: The German Energiewende is the planned transition by Germany to a low carbon, environmentally sound, reliable, and affordable energy supply. This paper reports on a U.S.faculty international study program, which took place in May 2019, to explore the intersection ofthe German renewable energy and energy storage sectors. The international program includedeleven instructional faculty from throughout the United States on a two
is designed to support online coursedevelopment. His application was accepted in Dec. 2018 and he developed the course in spring2019 in collaboration with a professional instructional designer. The course was offered in summer2019. The course demographics, student’s performance results, and student feedback are comparedbetween spring 2019 when the course was taught face-to-face and summer 2019 when it was taughtonline. The student performance indicated that the drop, fail, or withdrawal (DFW) rate was notmeaningfully impacted by the mode of delivery. However, the students’ final GPA in the course(before any form of adjustments or curving), improved from 81/100 in the face-to-face class to 88in the online class. Also, the rate of homework
