level students, the majority of them had taken at leasttwo courses in Purdue’s CGT Minor curriculum, Solid Modeling and Surface Modeling, whichprovided the necessary CAD skills. that the use of visualization in math and science related coursesenhances both the visualization skills of students and the learning outcomes of the math andscience related courses. Hands on experiences, field observations, use of graphing calculators,and science laboratory equipment increased opportunities for the students to create mentalmodels which they could then relate to different academic areas and to daily life 16.
