Table 5 shows the general lack ofconsensus as to the degree to which professional skills detract from technical content acrossengineering disciplines. Within this analysis, ANOVA indicated that Program Chairs andAssociate Deans showed no significant differences. Mechanical engineering faculty differedsignificantly from bioengineering/biomedical, civil, industrial, and electrical engineering at theα=0.05 level. The overall stronger agreement among mechanical engineers seems to suggest amore technically minded mechanical engineering discipline from other disciplines within thisstudy.
