self-efficacy, sense of belonging, identification and identityintegration. Often, negative experiences are the result of subtle bias or schemas that all studentsbring with them into their teams, and occur despite the employment of best practices in teamformation. This paper presents a summary of a contemporary understanding of this phenomenon aspresented by several individual researchers covering the fields of stereotype threat, engineeringdesign, teamwork, motivation, and race, gender and their intersections. The content of this paperwas generated by collecting the individual responses of each researcher to a set of promptsincluding: • examples of how students can be marginalized in engineering teamwork and what governing

literature types were coveredequally in the workshop sessions (i.e., the majority of the time was spent on searching for journalarticles), exposure to previously unfamiliar literature types boosted the students’ comfort levelwith being able to find these sources on their own. The marked difference in students’ pre-session responses between Versions 1 and 2 for Monographs/Edited Collections versusBooks/Monographs indicates that simply understanding the definition of a literature type isimportant to these students’ self-efficacy. It was also a reminder for us that library jargon can beconfusing to our patrons. 100% 80% 60% 40% 20% 0

A review of the literature shows a wide range of case studiesexamining measured results and extrapolating the implications of such assessment. This type ofsummative, selected-response assessment can provide some indication of whether information Page 15.278.2literacy standards are being met. However to fully evaluate student proficiencies, informationliteracy assessment must also be able to assess a student’s ability to apply information literacyskills. Herein we employ the bibliometric technique of citation analysis for evaluatinginformation literacy among first-year
