. Homework assignments are not graded but must be worked thoroughly by the studentsto prepare for a follow up quiz given to the students in one week upon receiving the relatedassignment. This approach of assessing student's knowledge has been tested for severalconsecutive years and proved to be very effective in student’s comprehension of a subject taught.The other assessment tools used in the EM course are the midterm and final examinations, andstudents presentations.
