As we face growing populations andlimited resources, innovative approaches decision analysis will be important for engineers of the21st century and beyond.A key challenge in the course was the integration of life cycle assessment (LCA) software intothe curriculum due to (1) accessibility to the proprietary software and (2) a lack of previousexperience with the software. SimaPro 8 is proprietary software that was available to students inone computer laboratory.
