In particular, the Kern Entrepreneurial Engineering Network encourages youngengineers to take an entrepreneurial mindset when completing projects and some applicationshave shown promise for increased performance as a result 22 .Background on How the Course was Previously TaughtThe freshmen introduction to engineering course, IE 106, is entitled “Engineering ProblemSolving” (EPS). Engineering students are required to take the course within their first year. Thecourse was previously taught as a project-oriented class with an emphasis on student engagementand introducing different engineering
