However, compared toactive cooling systems, passive cooling system have lower heat dissipation rates, andenvironment conditions such as air temperature and wind speed will affect the heatdissipation rates [20]. Active cooling system concludes micro-channels, spray cooling and jetimpingement, Abdolzadeh showed spray cooling could reduce cell temperature from 58°C to37°C [21], however, spray cooling require water usage and the heat from the cell is wasted. The active cooling system is more efficient and more technically feasible if the waste heatfrom cooling system can be reused in

, research has suggested a 30 kilometers or greatertidal fence along a dam or bridge more is required to achieve economic viability. For tidalturbines, velocities are dependent on the blade design and typically require velocities of 1m/s orgreater to generate effective electrical power. 3,4 Another tidal energy obstacle is the high initial project cost. For large scale projects, thecosts are usually $10 million USD or greater. Based on published data from the Bay of Fundy(located in Eastport, Maine) turbine project it is possible to calculate the simple payback for thisproject: $ 21,000,000 = $(0.215) (1,200 Homes) (10932 kW*Hr) (12 Hrs) ( X )Yrs kW*Hr

throughout the academic cycle. “...students frequently question their identity, relationships, direction and worth during transition to school which produces turmoil and crisis. Stress of relocation, separation from family and friends, new people, academic challenges, discrepancy between expectations and reality, loneliness, and lack of support all significantly relate to attrition” (Lee, D., Olson, E. A., Locke, B. Michelson S. T. & Odes E, 2009, p. 5).Students past the initial transition face stressors related to making progress in research orprojects, successfully completing academic milestones, and job hunting. Even the most resilientstudents can be negatively impacted by these stressors. In the worst case

The transcripts were coded verbatim, except for theexclusion of crutch words and phrases such as “umm”, “you know”, any instances of stuttering, etc. I organized each narrative into major themes that are consistent across each narrative, but thenarratives can be read individually or as a group. This paper more specifically focuses on thediscussion surrounding the job search process and why these professors wanted to pursuepositions at Baccalaureate Colleges and Master’s Institutions. The main purpose of this paper to present graduate students, past and present

Technology degree programwas initiated and implemented at Purdue University Northwest in the year 2008. This relativelynew program has graduated over 300 students in a short time, and enrolls over 150 studentsevery semester.Purdue University Northwest, with two campuses in Northwest Indiana, has had ABETaccredited undergraduate Engineering Technology programs since the 70’s, therefore, there wasa large alumni base to start the new Master’s program. The Master’s program begun in 2008 withno additional faculty or administrative resources, and did not have any specific concentration.Currently, the MS degree program has six concentrations in various disciplines withinengineering technology and offers three industry-based graduate certifications. know you well.  Determine application deadlines for schools where you are interested in applying.  Draft application statement(s).Most graduate programs in engineering expect that you will apply 9-12 months in advance of thesemester in which you wish to begin graduate school. Thus, during the fall term of your finalyear of undergraduate studies, you should complete the following tasks:  Narrow your list of places to apply; generally 3-8 completed applications is a good goal. Ideally, you will apply to a range of schools (size, location, ranking, etc.) where you can make a strong case that you are a good investment and “fit” for their program.  Identify your backup plan – “safety” school, work, volunteering

deciding who to ask for recommendations, and detailed advice is given on how toprepare background information that will assist letter writers in highlighting the range ofapplicants' skills and abilities.IntroductionRecommendation letters are typically one component of a larger application package, which mayalso include transcripts, test scores, statements of purpose, and a resume. Before asking forrecommendation letters, you should consider the purpose and scope of the opportunity, anddetermine what types of recommendations would be most appropriate and helpful in convincingthe reviewer that you are the best fit for this opportunity. For instance, typical graduate school applications require the following elements:  Statement(s) of Purpose: an
