The fourth year focuses on a requiredcapstone experience, along with the completion of student-selected technical and generalelectives. The required technical IE courses and capstone experience are collectively referred toas “core” or “required” coursework in this paper.Data collectionSurvey data from 152 IE students and interview data from 15 IE students were analyzed for thispaper. Survey and interview data were collected from both ME and IE undergraduates as part ofthe larger study, though only the IE student data was analyzed for this paper.
