instrumentation books are available, either as monographs 3,4,5, textbooks 6,7 , andsmall, but significant paperbacks 8,9. Many currently available text books depend on the student’sdiscipline or background. There has been a recent proliferation of instrumentation monographs,many of which are included in the reference list. Monographs are best used as library reserveresource materials. Some books feature a programming language for instrumentation andcontrols10,11,12,13. Refereed instrumentation papers are certainly of interest to senior agriculturaland biological engineers, but may not provide the necessary practice problems needed.
