The EWB Challenge has been piloted at Colorado State University for the past two years [4]and has been successfully undertaken by students across Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdomand Ireland since 2007 [5, 6]. The other two curricular groups studied are engineering students who willbe studying engineering abroad with a partner university for a semester or more, and engineering studentsundertaking a short term (3 week) sustainable design and construction three credit study abroad programin Costa Rica over the winter break. Finally, two co-curricular groups of students will be investigated,members of the universities Engineers Without Borders USA chapter will be looked at as two differentgroups.
