Sciences.Students must be in good academic standing (GPA of 2.5 or better) and completed theirsophomore year. Junior and non-graduating senior students were also considered. Facultymentors with new or on-going research projects applied to the program by submitting a projectdescription and research plan. Through the application process, faculty project descriptions wereprovided to students to identify areas of interest and create student-faculty teams. To help enableand support these projects, students receive a $3500 stipend and faculty are reimbursed up to$250 for student research supplies. The first year of this summer program (2017), the CSC²program hosted a total of 31 students working across 14 different projects. Table 1 describes thestudent majors

resonated well with my personal experience in the past withfemale mentorship. Reflecting on how I got to where I am today, I owe much of my success tothe female mentors that have influenced me so positively throughout my high school and collegeyears.Recommendations for Future Camps:For many of the activities there was a scripted part and an additional challenge planned, but timeprohibited most of the girls from thoroughly exploring the additional challenges. In the futuremore time will be allocated to each activity. According to these results, 75-90 minutes peractivity would be sufficient. develop anunderstanding of the engineering ecosystem of Black youth. With respect to settings, we plan toinclude both “Black Spaces” and spaces that are not explicitly culturally specific. practice.Considering the patterns and meanings together for our relatively small datasets, we recognizedthat the STEM-related social media content, shared by African American youth and young adultsin college communities of practice such as NSBE chapters, has potential to provide STEMeducation researchers with a window to view evolving STEM identities. all of those aero classes on top of each other.Miguel goes on to describe how financial obligations forced him to work during undergradinstead of getting recommended volunteer experience in his field: Once I determined that it was going to be my major I knew what classes I needed to take, I knew what courses I needed to pass and what grades I needed to get to graduate really – that was the plan. The only kind of confusion that I had which I am currently figuring out now is the route of medical school versus graduate school. That’s the big decision as an undergrad I didn’t make right away and after I graduated I worked for a couple of years, now I’m back deciding really what I want to do for the rest of my
