He has industrial/government experience with the General Electric Company, the Westinghouse Electric Company, and the U S Army Signal Corps. He served on the faculty at the University of Illinois from 1962 until 1966. He then served on the faculty at Iowa State University from 1966 until 2001, and was named University Professor Emeritus of Electrical and Computer Engineering

extends back to the 1930’s when the school was a junior college. The University wasknown as The University of Tennessee Junior College, and the engineering program consisted ofthe first two years towards a baccalaureate degree in the student’s chosen field of engineering.The University became a four-year college in 1951. Most degree programs were transformed intofull four-year baccalaureate programs at that time.
