The college doesnot pay high school teachers to deliver ENGR 102 HS since it is a dual credit offering in theirhigh school, however, a modest stipend is paid for workshop attendance and travel expenses arecovered. Additionally, theNational Council of Teachers of Mathematics names spatial skills as a necessary skill to develop,yet the curricula in K-12 education often does not explicitly teach these skills [2]. Currently, alarge Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) is underway to do just that – explicitly teach spatialskills. As part of the RCT, we examined the implementation process from the teachers’ point-of-view. Specifically, this paper analyzes teachers’ concerns when they implemented the spatial skillscurriculum in grade 7 science and mathematics classrooms. that introduceshigh school students to electrical engineering, renewable energy related knowledge and relevanthands-on projects to teach power concepts.
