Mathematical Sciences reviewed andrefined three mathematics gateway courses offered at the State Colleges (Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus I). Note: The mathematics faculty decided to leave College Algebra for aseparate discussion which is currently taking place. The course refinement process consisted of acritical review of the different course syllabi used at the State Colleges followed by consensus ona common refined syllabus for each course that emphasized the core mathematical concepts andtheir sequencing so as to provide a well-thought-out conceptual instructional framework for eachcourse.
