various classes. Students were told that participants who completed both a start-and end-of-semester version of the survey would be entered into a random drawing for one ofthree $50 gift cards. Three hundred forty-eight FTIACs were eligible to participate. One studentdied during the Fall 2019 semester and four others made complete withdrawals from theuniversity for unknown reasons. These students were removed from the analysis, leaving apotential pool of 343 participants. One hundred four completed the start-of-semester survey(30.3% response rate) and 42 completed both the start- and end-of semester surveys (12.2%response rate). Only results from the start-of-semester survey are included in the current work.Table 1 shows the demographics of

students perceive bias within machine learning and search algorithms.Over 700 computer science and computer engineering students from three different institutionsparticipated in the survey from Fall 2018 to Spring 2019. Based on survey results, Google wasoverwhelmingly the preferred search engine. The participants also predicted that artificialintelligence algorithms will improve over time. The majority of respondents believe that privatecompanies, not government organizations, need to regulate their own artificial intelligencealgorithms. On average, computer science and computer engineering students acknowledge thatalgorithm bias could occur when people create algorithms. The results suggest that students arefamiliar with search engines and in

test and interpreting the results.Importantly, the course is delivered virtually, which makes the implementation very differentfrom that in an in-person classroom setting. This paper provides a detailed discussion of the virtual laboratory modules added to‘Nondestructive Evaluation of Flaws’. In addition, we report how the changes impacted thestudent learning in Fall 2020 compared to Fall 2019, when the delivery was strictly lecture-based. Finally, we discuss ‘lessons learned’ and modifications planned for the next offerings ofthis class. Our overall assessment results indicate a positive impact of the virtual laboratories on

perspective, he is able to better understand the business side of research, which many future scientists and engineers will encounter in industry [5, Conclusion].BackgroundThe engineering program at James Madison University (JMU) was established in 2008. Thatsame year saw the opening of a campus STEM library, Rose Library, and the creation of anApplied Sciences Librarian position to provide reference, instruction, and collection managementfor engineering and other applied sciences programs on campus. The Applied Sciences Librarianhired in 2008 has served in this role ever since. As of fall 2019, nearly 1,900 students at JMU areenrolled in the College of Integrated Science and Engineering [6].JMU is also home to a nationally recognized

contribute tocommunity development and enhance their skills. The implementation of project-based learning(PBL) in community-based projects has been shown to improve students’ collaboration andcommunication skills (Sagala et al., 2019). PBL involves exploration of knowledge as studentswork on a project over an extended period of time, providing opportunities for students to gainprofessional experience with real-world projects (Bakar et al., 2019; Kokotsaki et al., 2016).CBR offer numerous advantages for both researchers and the communities involved. Thisresearch methodology has been shown to be effective for translating research findings intocommunity solutions (Tapia et al., 2022). Furthermore, CBR promotes co-learning whereresearchers gain insights

Negative Pressure Wound Therapy Improving Health Outcomes in Local Medical Developing Nations DoctorWe assessed the impact of the experience using a nationally normed survey for CUREs in STEM[2]. We chose this survey because there is benchmark data available to compare how studentresponses to the CURE compares to results from other types of undergraduate researchexperiences (UREs). We collected survey data over five course offerings: spring 2018, fall 2018,spring 2019, fall 2019, and fall 2023. We found statistically significant pre-post gains on two-thirds of the survey items relating to students’ understanding of the research process andconfidence in their STEM abilities

from those in years 2 and 3. This is due first, to a University-widechange in learning management systems which moved all courses from Blackboard™ toCanvas ™ in 2018, and a corresponding move from the video capture system TechSmith Relayto VidGrid. The free online whiteboard, Stoodle, that was used for group collaboration in 2016was eliminated and left an essential gap in the course design. To fill this gap, in 2018 and 2019,Microsoft One Note was used because it was free on campus and mimicked much of the samefunctionality, albeit with intermittent lags in performance.
