difficulty (Figure 2). Taking all these facts together, one can conclude that the “corequisite” was simply not as prepared for Exam 1 as their counterparts. One possible reason for this is that the “corequisite” first encountered particle equilibrium in Week 4 of their Physics I class, which occurred after Exam 1 had already been administered. They simply did not have as much reinforcement and repetition on this material as their “prerequisite” counterparts. They are also likely less prepared for the rigors of a college exam. For most of the “corequisite” group, Exam 1 was their first or second exam in their college careers and that might also have been a factor in their poor performance.  The

Michele J. Grimm is the Wielenga Creative Engineering Endowed Professor of Mechanical Engineering. Her research has focused on injury biomechanics – from characterizing important tissue properties to developing appropriate models for the assessment of injury mechanisms. Most recently, this has included working with obstetricians to identify the pathomechanics of neonatal brachial plexus injury. Based on this work, she served on the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Task Force on Neonatal Brachial Plexus Palsy. Through an understandingof aerodynamics and air flow, it is possible to generate an airfoil design for the blade of the windturbine, which induces lift by creating a low pressure, high velocity flow of air over its curved topsurface and a high pressure, low velocity pocket under the curved top surface, which will reducethe amount of drag back into the fan, increasing efficiency of the fan. introverted (I).Personality types can be used to help people know more about their strengths, weaknesses, likes,dislikes, compatibility with other people and even potential career preferences. An ASEE-MBTIstudy done in 1980s showed that engineering students predominantly tend to have thinking andjudging personality types and are generally introverted [3,4]. However, no study has relatedstudents’ personality type to their technical topics of interest. Data gathered last year [1] showed that engineering students generally have the samepersonality types as in the 1980 data gathered by ASEE. after finishing the course. It was important to explorewho these students were and what they did after leaving the discipline. Table I summarizes somedata for all the students who left the program. Based on the best information that was available itseems six students dropped out and there is no information about their current status (indicated as“dropped out” in the table). Seven students changed major and are pursuing other career optionsranging from a degree in Mathematics to Cybersecurity. These are very good outcomes becausethe earlier the students can determine their true calling the better it is. If math is the reason fortheir switching (and as the table indicates that it probably is not the reason for everyone) it is goodto be able to do
