It is natural then to expect that the in-depth analysisand study involved in typical PBL experiments or assignments should enhance the understandingof such concepts.PBL typically involves some sort of real problem set-up and execution. In mechanics courses,this usually translates to assigning design project(s) to groups of students11,12,13. Such designprojects are by definition open-ended and have no unique answer or solution. Weobserve that the draping process is almost completed after 0.13 s and that the change in thicknessup to 0.6 s is minor and mostly occurs around the base of the cowl. In Figure 7c) is the drapingprocess for the creation of the instrument panel shown. The thickness of the plastic sheet on topof the instrument panel does not change from the thickness of the original undeformed sheet. When the MOSFET turns on,its gate voltage is at 11.3V and the 2N3904 turns off due to a lack of biasing from its base voltage.To turn off the MOSFET, the LMC555’s output goes low causing a voltage difference betweenthe PNP transistor’s (2N3906) emitter and its base leading to current flow and a short between theIRFP460’s gate and the ground of the circuit; this short discharges the MOSFET, turning it off.After the MOSFET is discharged, there is no longer a voltage difference between the emitter andbase of the 2N3906 so it returns to being an open circuit. their teacher’simplementation of the e4usa curriculum caused their interest in science to grow, whichdemonstrates that, in addition to the engineering design curriculum itself, a teacher’simplementation of the curriculum is also important for increasing students’ science interest. InHill et al.’s meta-analysis of 89 professional learning programs for STEM teachers, theresearchers found that programs that focused on training teachers to use curriculum materials andstrengthening teachers’ content knowledge, pedagogical content knowledge, and knowledge ofstudent learning were associated with better achievement outcomes when compared to programsthat did not emphasize these goals [5]. -immersive summer camps at our home institution. Beyond the first year, we continue tocontact IDEA teams to share resources and opportunities for their students and families to use. During the second year of CISTEME365’s three-year, multi-layered programming, theCOVID-19 global pandemic significantly changed everyday life. These changes required greateruse and reliance on technological tools to address STEM inequalities and inequities. Despitemany of our programming interventions being planned for in-person contact, we adjusted ourexpectations and content delivery to carry on despite the pandemic, shifting our professionaldevelopment training to 100% virtual, as well as supporting schools in planning andimplementation of virtual informal-STEM
