Finally, rather than using a standalone course to teach writing,a number of engineering departments try to interweave the teaching of writing into a sequence ofengineering courses. Such a course sequence occurs with two upper-level laboratory courses inthe Mechanical Engineering Department of Virginia Tech [4].
