Abstract

It was a very challenging task to identify a well designed embedded system platform for educators

Most commercial off the shelf (COT) platforms were tailored for specific applications

Some of them were very hardware orientated with very rigid features

This work demonstrated a programmable embedded system design platform based on Intel FPGA and COT components

The platform can be replicated very easily and economically, which are very suitable for educators

Students were able to develop multimedia applications on the platform

The application involved embedded system design, analog, programming, various storage technology and embedded graphics

At the conference, we will present a plug and play application developed using the platform and live demonstration
