Me modeling these cross-disciplinary invitations was toencourage engineering faculty to see the value of bringing diverse perspectives to theengineering classroom.When students arrived in the first class, we asked them why they came to WFU and why WFUengineering. We invited them to share what a liberal arts engineer means to them and what theirhopes and dreams were. This fierce commitment to the student perspective and shared visioningcontinued to guide us and drive us in building the
