engineeringworkforce. For non-engineers, the mathematics and physics concepts may be daunting when theyneed such knowledge to perform their job responsibilities in a meaningful way. In the workforce, such knowledge gaps may occur, and one such instance is the hydraulics knowledge needed bythe environmental health specialists working for the state Department of Public Health (DPH) toexamine swimming pool plans prior to approval. An agreement was reached between a publicuniversity and the DPH to meet this need for engineering education. This work focused ontraining to help in developing a non-engineering workforce to understand fundamentalengineering concepts related to hydraulics. The training was divided into two portions: aclassroom lecture and accompanying

Unlike traditional AI, generative AI is not limited to predefinedrules and patterns, but rather creates new content based on machine learning algorithms. Whilethere are various examples of generative AI like Bard, DALL-E, Midjourney, and DeepMind, only one example gained popularity seemingly overnight: ChatGPT. OpenAI launched ChatGPTon November 30, 2022. Social media users immediately posted about the uses of the applicationincluding travel planning, writing short stories, and creating code. ChatGPT attracted over onemillion users in the first five days of going public [1]. With the instant popularity also camequestions of ethical use and implementation. Proposals were created for degrees in mechanical, civil, and electrical engineering(“the holy grail,” as one long-time faculty member put it) plus the official creation of a Collegeof Engineering. The then-UGA president (and BAE Dept head) waited for the right time politi-cally to present these proposals to the state of Georgia’s Board of Regents. Finally, in late 2010,these proposals were approved. The Board of Regents vote was tied 8-8, so the Board Chairmade the deciding vote. the course is that the best way for students toimprove their performance on the FE exam would be to improve their attitudes towards theimportance of professional registration [3]. This has proved to be a valid premise. Since thecourse has been offered more cadets have expressed the desire to pursue professionalregistration. It is challenging for cadets that plan to commission in the armed forces at the timeof graduation to realize the importance of preparing for, taking, and passing the FE exam. Manyhave expressed the attitude in the past that they plan to be an officer in the armed service, and donot see the need to pursue professional registration even though many promotions in the militaryrequire a PE license [4]. This might have been because students’ knowledge of manufacturing processes grows during their time in ManP and they may be developing manufacturing plans without a full understanding of manufacturing.6. Hence, this study finds that the preparation and use of study sheets for examination does impactstudents’ performance. During this strategy, student-teams will identify a plan on how to conduct theprocess (Organization Tools), they will integrate needed Resources, apply the plan to acquireknowledge (Learning Cycles) and perform the transfer of this knowledge to the challenge (LinearEngineering Sequence, LES) always towards the development of the PIT. In this particularcontribution, students use the Foundry as the overall, or “macroscopic” level strategy in thelearning and the finer details related to the application or subject matter (the modeling of the fluidvelocity profile) are guided
