Theypresented the students with an ill−structured problem in different goal−oriented contextsbecause they needed to consider multiple factors to find the solution. research design. Therefore, we find various studiesdemonstrate the importance of teaching research design to engineering students [17],[18].The rationality model is one of the most well-known decision-making models. Therefore, itbecomes necessary to look at it in-depth to understand it better. Below are the fourcomponents of the rationality model of decision-making: a. Intelligence: when to make a decision b. Design: analysing earlier actions, making possible plans c. Choice: choosing the best possible plan based on merit d. Review: assessing past choicesIt is interesting to note that this model is very similar to the four-part structure of 'researchdesign’ which, being central to innovation, is already a part of the engineering

Specifically, theparticipants were asked the question, “How has industrial collaboration impacted you in thiscourse? Please discuss how the industrial collaboration (a) influenced your perception towardsproblem-solving, (b) influenced your opinion on ethics, and (c) affected your confidence as anengineer, i.e., self-efficacy.”Data AnalysisWe employed a qualitative inductive approach to analyze the data. silicone pneumatic actuators powered by a pneumaticcontrol system.Soft Robotic Hand: Teaching Mechanical DesignTo design the hand, we optimized a 3D printed palm, finger actuators, and connection joints.Given previous experience with classroom teaching and outreach [13, 18–21], our focus wassimple and easy to use designs and components. The palm serves as the rigid connection betweenthe actuators and controls (Figure 2.a). The connection between palm and actuators is a cubiccasing (Figure 2.b), slot secured to the palm (Figure 2. a.iv-c.iv). Slots were positioned in amanner to resemble a human-hand geometry [22] (Figure 2.c.iv). Typically, thumb joints havetwo degrees of freedom allowing for extension/flexion and adduction/abduction. We
