were: “we need to monitor the temperature in °C and tomatoeswill not be cultivated at cold temperatures so no need to monitor below 0°C”. The class teamsfound that the environment that tomatoes thrive in is between 21-27°C (70-82°F). This is withinthe operating range of the onboard temperature sensor, ADT7420 [9], as it can operate between -40°C and 150°C. It also has an accuracy of ±0.2°C from -10°C to 85°C. They decided to use theonboard temperature sensor since it provides the greenhouse team with an accurate and cost-effective way to instantaneously monitor the greenhouse's temperature.
