wasfirst processed through R, an open-source statistical package, in which scripts of code werewritten to clean the large amount of data. Once data were cleaned and processed, we were able toconduct statistical analyses that addressed the two research questions.The study population (post-data cleaning) consists of 876 students in freshman engineering fromFall 2013 at a large, Mid-Atlantic research university. Students who opted-out of having theirdata part of the on-going research project were removed from the data set.
