undergraduate engineering students. Figure 1 is a concept map that theauthors developed which includes the key elements of the Dick & Carey model. Each element inthe instructional design process will be discussed individually. Though it is critical that each stepidentified in the instructional design process be deliberately executed every situation varies. As aresult, the emphasis and effort for each element can vary widely in a single instructional design.It is for this reason that as each step of the process is discussed herein, several pages arededicated to some sections, while others require only a paragraph of attention.
