instrumented as part of this grant was a Variable Air Volume mixing boxthat is mounted in to the ceiling of our thermo/fluids laboratory room. During the initialconstruction of the building, the decorative ceiling tiles in this room were purposely omitted inorder to expose the ventilation ducts and water pipes. Directly overhead is a large Variable AirVolume (VAV) mixing chamber that combines hot and cold air flows. The flow rate of the hotand cold air streams is controlled through a feedback circuit in order to maintain the desiredtemperature in the room. Measures of the enacted curriculum can also be used toinvestigate the quality of instruction and curriculum implementation5.
