This is the third year that miniGEMS is being held at UIW. Four two-week miniGEMScamps were hosted at UIW for a total of eight weeks starting June 5 till August 4 this summer.The primary goal of the camp was to introduce more female students to the field of Engineeringthrough robotic projects, computer programming, graphic design, and guest speakers. Students are given requirements (such as include a hill, a tunnel, certain numbersof turns of specific degree measurements, etc.) to incorporate into their maze. The students workin groups to produce a maze from recycled materials and demonstrate their mazes to each otherin a gallery walk.
