Framework for Curriculum AssessmentExpanding upon our previous discussions on curricular analytics, we examine the nuanced chal-lenge of analyzing the impact of curricula on student progression. This analysis is particularlycomplex due to the multifaceted nature of curriculum-related components influencing studentprogress. Our methodology focuses on decomposing the overall complexity of a curriculum into (a) (b)Figure 1: Undergraduate Electrical Engineering program structures at two major public univer-sities with the same ABET accreditation standards.two primary elements: instructional complexity, which refers to the pedagogical methods andsupport mechanisms

opportunities asstudied by Marques et al. [7].Data Analytics in STEM EducationBrown et al. [8] integrated data analytics in engineering education to address technical require-ments from a multicomplex environment perspective concept using data analytics tools such asIBM Watson Analytics. The results obtained from a multi-complex environment have aided stu-dents and improved their decision approach to quantify data accuracy and project requirements. The integration of analytics tools fostered the engineering students the ability to forecast require-ments and create new methods critical to their engineering design.Data analytics was also added to a core course on product manufacturing in the industrial engi-neering curriculum [9]. The pedagogical method

Design and PracticeSequence. This sequence prepares students for real-world, open-ended design problems [42].Part of the student summative evaluations includes team reports at different stages of the designprocess, such as Scoping and Preliminary Design Concept, Full Design Proposal, or FinalDesign, following Dym et al.[17] framework. Our analysis focuses on the Problem Definitionsections of these reports, which include identifying the problem goal, stakeholders, safetyconsiderations, functions, attributes, and constraints, among other possibilities that can be addedas the students progress in their project design.Feedback Mechanism and Model Fine-tuning:A multi-class classification approach using a fine-tuned LLM is the base for the feedback

general observation of the authors that the accuracy of the results might be improved byconsidering certain factors, such as capturing images in a well-lit central zone with highmagnification and in a dark room to avoid interference from surrounding light.5. Development of Interdisciplinary Curriculum: 11As a critical by-product of the current project, the methods highlighted can be utilized across amultitude of disciplines (from bioengineering to electrical, materials, nanoengineering, etc.) forone of the most fundamental areas of experimental research in STEM at the undergraduate level:accurately identifying multiple systems from optical images. A broad, relevant, and timelycurriculum can be built

traditional curriculum (Applied statistics for research, Datascience foundations, and one DS Elective) with the aforementioned advanced undergraduate courses, streamlining the academic path for students interested in a quicker progression toward a Master’s in DataScience. As in the two-year program, 4 + 1 students undertake a comprehensive capstone project spread across twosemesters, during which they engage in extensive research, write a detailed treatise, and present theirwork, showcasing their mastery of Data Science concepts and methodologies.F. Minor and Related ClassesIn addition to the undergraduate and graduate programs, we also have developed a Data Science minor. The Data Science minor provides students with the necessary analytical skills to

further expand somefields as we know them. There is also a growing body of work looking at data science applications in engineering [6].Although we know it may be applied or beneficial for the broader field and its subfields (e.g.,mechanical, industrial, chemical), we are limited in our understanding of how non-computingengineers may apply it in their work or practice. With that said, it is necessary to understand hownon-computing engineers may apply data science in their work, as this remains a challenge in thefield. In the context of engineering education and practice, Beck et al.’s article suggests addingdata science as a “competency” in chemical engineering both in “the university curriculum or ina professional development context.” They also

Furthermore, his visualizations showcased the connection between visualization and the public's response.DuBois's works demonstrate that properly presented data can affect audiences’ opinions, evokeemotions, raise awareness, and prompt action. His work shows that understanding the public'sresponse to data allows for effective visualization techniques and demonstrates the necessity formore creative visualizations in modern fields to inspire change. A selection of DuBois’svisualizations is shown below. W.E.B DuBois Visualizations for the 1900 Paris World’s Fair [4]This project bridges fields of data science, engineering
