Systematically introducing ‘breaks’ in the lecture, involving students incognitive activities appropriate to the lecture content seems to have a great impact in the learningprocess and is appreciated by the students. The minute paper was attempted as a formativetechnique with limited success due to the lack of enthusiasm from students and their lack ofawareness about positive impact on their learning.
