ConclusionOur objective has been to combine two academic themes, one related to the experiences of LGBTQ+individuals and the other related electronics and computer programming in a course that is viewed bystudents as inclusive and accessible. A semester-long project focused on a programmable LGBTQ+ themedlight display serves as a nexus to integrate the LGBTQ+ and “tech” topics. The first two instances of thecourse indicate that this integrating mechanism can be effective and students appreciate the course, especiallywhen both themes are actively and structurally maintained
