strategies like more time on tests often don’t translate.● The letter is then shared with the faculty and they are meant to implement that.● The sharing of the letter is meant to be the start of a conversation between student, faculty, advisor, disabilities services. However, in many cases, it is a terminal communication event.● It is important to note that faculty are legally required to follow the accommodations as long as it doesn’t fundamentally change the course or the outcomes or what is assessed. They have to do this without knowledge of the student’s disability but with the knowledge of stated accommodations.
