To quantify the efficacy of the ClinicalObservations and Needs Finding course as it specifically relates to our geographical location andavailable resources, pre—and post—course surveys were analyzed both qualitatively andquantitatively. To directly tie the methods of analysis to the nature of the course, the learningobjectives remained forefront during the survey creation portion of the process. business solutions. They have noted how theBME students have utilized their skills in synergy and research to better communicate withpatients, engineers, and employees within the company. Some concerns the industrypartner has raised is around programming and the student’s lack of training. This concernties to a broader challenge within the OSU BME curriculum that does not prepare studentsfor the level of programming required. In the future, the industry partner will aim toinclude programming booth camps to ensure the students are prepared to handle thesechallenges.The future plan for this course is to become an official course. Currently the course isoffered as an independent study which does not require a syllabus and it is graded as apass/fail
