SelectionWhile 122 students filled out the pre-survey, and 107 students filled out the post-survey, only 99students completed both the pre- and post-survey with no missing data. The top three factorsimpacting major decisions at the beginning of the semester for all students were job opportunitiesafter graduation, personal interest, and salary levels (Table 2). All three of these factors had anaverage importance level greater than 4 on the provided scale from 1 (not at all important) to 5(extremely important). While the influential impacting factors found in the literature vary, jobprospects and personal interest are most identified as top factors by other studies [4], [8], whichagrees with our results.
