engineering education contended thatalthough adversity usually refers to major events that cause paralyzing outcomes, it was alsovaluable to recognize more subtle pressure and risk factors as well as their impact on resilience(Hunsu et al., 2021). This view is echoed in our study, which found that when first entering theworkplace, early career engineers were more likely to encounter not major destructive setbacksbut mini-crises or subtle pressure, which nonetheless call for the need of career resilience just aswell.
