above principles have been discussed in greater detail by the author in hisprevious ASEE conference proceedings and publications (Narayanan, 2007, 2009 &2019). Some of those ideas have been reproduced here as deemed appropriate, for sake ofclarity and completeness.Assessment and the ‘ACORN’ Model The use of ACORN model suggested by Hawkins and Winter to conquer andmastering change, may offer some helpful hints for the novice professor (Hawkins &Winter, 1997). These five ideas provide guidelines as to how an instructor cansuccessfully try to implement the Concept Mapping Model or the Structured ContentModel in a 21st century classroom.Action : It is possible to effectively change things only when a teaching

A&M University and earned his Doctor of Philos- ophy in Civil (Environmental) Engineering. His research efforts are focused on drinking water quality and issues related to treatment of wastewater using physical, chemical, biological and electro-chemical/kinetic processes. His recent research efforts have been in the area of application of geographic information sys- tems to environmental management and sustainability, causes/effects of salinity in soils and corrosion of metal pipes. Dr. Tewari has keen interest in STEM education, improving diversity in STEM areas, inclusion of hands-on and digital tools in curriculum. c American Society for Engineering Education, 2019

Doppler anemometry, particle image/tracking velocimetry, and image-basedmethods for tracking fin deformation. The flow-field measurements complement measurementsof fin thrust, angular displacement/velocity, and shaft torque in order to help students integratetheir developing knowledge of conservation laws and vortex dynamics into the projects. Figure2 provides an example of a project in which students leveraged a recent study published by theNRL group (Ramamurti et al., 2019) to design and experimentally test fin designs. In the finalproject, each team addresses a particular facet of the problem, such that the breadth of theirunderstanding is expanded presentations

was offered for the first time in the Fall 2020 semester. In academicyear 2019 -2020 the course went through the full administrative approval processes, beingstrongly supported by the department, college, and university curricula committees, as well as bythe industrial advisory board. The renewable energy course is intended to provide a graduate-level understanding of the renewable energy conversion principles, concepts, technologies, resource assessment, analysis, control, operation and protection of renewable energy conversionsystems. It also examines the issues involved in grid integration, economics, environmentalimpacts and applications [12-16]. Based on the technical and sustainability challenges, futureoutlooks for each of the sources
