for assessing interviewquality was developed as part of a larger, ongoing research project that is using IPA. From theIPA perspective, in-depth, one-on-one interviews effectively allow participants to recount richand detailed experiences in their lives [1]. The nature of semi- or unstructured interviews meanthat things can and do change throughout the course of the interview, and so, while it is commonto develop an interview protocol for an IPA interview, it generally serves the purpose ofpreparation for likely content and determining the appropriate order of questions rather thanstrict interview instructions.
