week was visiting the Marathon Oil refinery. The participantslearned first-hand about the oil refining process and related career opportunities available to theirstudents. They also toured the oil refinery and participated in an interactive lunch discussion withrecent hires and current interns. The panel was comprised of traditionally underrepresentedgroups in engineering. The panel of recent hires and interns discussed the importance ofmathematics and science in high school and the potential impact teachers have on their students‘lives.
