Supervisor Spotlight Award in 2014, received the College of Engineering Graduate Student Mentor Award in 2018, and was inducted into the Virginia Tech Academy of Faculty Leadership in 2020. Dr. Matusovich has been a PI/Co-PI on 19 funded research projects including the NSF CAREER Award, with her share of funding being nearly $3 million. She has co-authored 2 book chapters, 34 journal publications, and more than 80 conference papers. She is recognized for her research and teaching, including Dean’s Awards for Outstanding New Faculty, Outstanding Teacher Award, and a Faculty Fellow. implementation of the undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Data Science (BSDS) program at the Wentworth Institute of Technology. This new degree was developed by an interdisciplinary committee, including faculty members from computer science, humanities, management, mathematics, and sciences to underscore the importance of collaborative expertise in the field of Data Science. We will discuss the curricular development as well as our efforts required to successfully launch the new program. We will provide insights into the decision-making process for aligning the program with dynamic industry requirements. From elementaryschool to graduate school, students are exposed to STEM curriculum, experiential learning,career development, and other external factors that contribute to them becoming an engineer.Having a systemogram that compiles this information could be used by students, teachers,professors, and administrators to refine the system for everyone’s benefit.
