diversity education into first year is an obviousimmediately achievable goal, with many programs already incorporating some elements atpresent. Another obvious place to include a deep dive in diversity would be in courses on ethicsand professionalism, or in co-op and capstone experiences. Here lessons about diversity can bereadily applied in workplace contexts, and future employers can readily build on educationaloutcomes in industry training settings. Finally, we must seriously consider how to build diversityeducation into the engineering core courses.
