Assessment Process for First Year Computer Graphics Course at University of Arkansas at Little RockContinuous improvement has become an important requirement for theengineering and technology programs that are undergoing review process byAccreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) in recent past. Thisissue will remain important in future as ABET emphasizes the importance ofcontinues improvement process in their review process as it benefits bothinstructor as well as student. Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Technology atUniversity of Arkansas developed a general assessment method to evaluatestudent outcomes of ABET- Engineering Technology Accreditation CommitteeCriteria (a) through (i) as a part of their accreditation process. Different courses inMET program are used to evaluate and assess these criteria. We selected first yearcomputer graphics course to satisfy criterion (f) of associates of science (AS)degree. The criterion (f) places significant emphasis on written, oral, andgraphical communication. Though developed method is a general method, thispaper describes how it is applied to computer graphics course. In this paper, wepresent course structure, assessment method and continuous improvementprocess.
