Dr. Lisa McNair (lmcnair@vt.edu, 540-231-1144) holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics and is an Assistant Professor of Engineering Education at Virginia Tech. She is Co-Director of the Virginia Tech Engineering Communication Center (VTECC), where she is developing communications curricula and assessment methodologies for engineering students and faculty, and conducting on-going research. Her research interests include curricular development and technology; international collaboration and communication; and interdisciplinary team work in electronic engineering design environments.
Prof. Knott holds an M.S. in Engineering Mechanics and a B.S. in Engineering Science and Mechnics. Her research interests include the design of effective engineering courses and curricula, pedagogy in engineering courses, models and predictors for success in engineering, and K-12 Preparation and recruitment.
Prof. Wolfe holds a PhD in Agricultural Engineering. In addition to improving engineering education, her areas of interest include small watershed hydrology, nonpoint source pollution and hydrologic modeling/geographic information systems (GIS).
Prof. Paretti holds a PhD in English as well as a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. She has worked as an engineer, a technical writer, and an educator, teaching in and directing technical communications programs for two decades. At Virginia Tech, she has been the Director of the Engineering Communications Program for Materials Science and Engineering and Engineering Science and Mechanics since 2003. She is Co-Director of the Virginia Tech Center for Engineering Communication (VTCEC), where she is developing communications curricula and assessment methodologies for engineering students and faculty, and conducting on-going research.
