In response to the ASEE Dean’s Diversity Pledge, where the UT Dallas Jonsson School committed to “at least one K-12 or community college pipeline activity aimed at increasing the diversity and inclusiveness of the engineering student body in our institution.” We will provide an update on how we have created a systemic approach including hackathons, mentoring, tutoring, and professional development. We’ve partnered with 4 companies, 3 community colleges and a private undergraduate engineering program to pilot this program and are excited to see it expand to other universities.
