Our Space Hardware Club at UAH is an interdisciplinary student organization that cuts across many engineering departments, and departments beyond engineering. We describe a one-month projects to initiate freshmen into the club. This year they have recruited 120 plus freshmen through this project activity that is entirely student run. It helps promote retention in engineering and helps anchor students to the university.
