The Practice and Thoughts about Accreditation of Minerals Processing Engineering Program Yuemin Zhao , Youjun Tao , Guangyuan Xie School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, China University of Mining & Technology, Xuzhou, Jiangsu 221116ABSTRCT: The professional status and characteristics of the minerals processingengineering program at the China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT)were introduced along with the achievements of innovative training of mineralprocessing engineers. The necessity of accreditation of the minerals processingengineering program was analyzed and the accreditation practice at CUMT wasdescribed. It is concluded that a rational curriculum, stable faculty, rich contents ofprofessional courses, and solid engineering practice experience are powerful elementsfor accreditation of the engineering program. Keywords: Accreditation; courses; engineering practice; faculty; mineral processing.
