Abstract

SOLUTIONS FOR COMBINING ROTATIONS INTO ONE VERIFIED ACTUAL MECHANISM PROPOSED Shuh Jing Ying University of South Florida Tampa, Florida, USA Abstract Combining two rotations into one is described in detail in the book of Advanced Dynamics by Shuh Jing Ying. The solutions are available, the combined motion will rotate about the new axis along the unit vector of n and with angular displacement, however they are not verified. This is a very important subject. It is good to have the solutions verified. In fact the repeated use of the combination of two rotations into one will actually combine many rotations into one. Consequently it saves time in the process of a missile shooting a missile in the middle air. In this paper the solutions are substituted back into the original equation so they are verified. The process is tedious and will be presented in the conference. The magnitude of n is checked to be unit as expected. In addition actual mechanism also is proposed in this paper, so the information given will relate the theoretical equation to practical application.
