AB  -         Art2STEM: Building a STEM Workforce at the Middle School LevelArt2STEM is a strategy project funded by the National Science Foundation, and it is currently inits second phase. Project partners are Alignment Nashville, PENCIL Foundation, MetropolitanNashville Public Schools, Adventure Science Center, Tennessee Tech University, and Edvantia.Through the project, 7th – 9th grade girls learn that creative design, analytical programming, andproduction (with AliceTM, SporeTM, SolidWORKSTM, Rapid Prototyping, etc.) are an importantpart of the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The projectpartners of Art2STEM anticipate that girls who participate through afterschool programs,industry visits, summer camps, and extensive university activities develop a solid foundation onSTEM for their own future and career. Project deliverables are measured and assessed informative and summative settings. Based on feedback received from the project’s evaluationmanager, continuous improvement of Art2STEM is discussed by the project partners in weeklyImplementation Team meetings and corrective actions are produced and implemented in the keydeliverables of the Art2STEM project. The current situation of Art2STEM and the key results ofthe project’s summative and formative evaluation will be highlighted in the final paper.
