Dr. Nourredine Boubekri is currently a professor of Engineering and Director of UNT SACS Reaffirmation. He previously chaired the Department of Engineering Technology from 2006 to 2010, and the Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering at UNT from 2007 to 2009. He also chaired the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering and was the director of Innovation and Research from 2002 to 2006. Before that Dr. Boubekri's tenure was at the University of Miami from 1983 to 2002; where he founded the current University of Miami industrial assessment center funded by the Department of Energy.
Vasim Shaikh received his B.S. degree in Production Engineering from the University of Mumbai in 2005 and Masters of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Systems from the University of North Texas, Denton, in 2008. Currently, he is pursuing his Ph.D. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of North Texas, Denton. He has been working as a Teaching and Research Assistant in both the departments of Mechanical Engineering Technology and Materials Science and Engineering at the University of North Texas, Denton. His research areas include mist and microstructure characterization during machining using minimum quantity lubrication. He is performing research to develop sustainable machining processes which are environmentally friendly and harmless to the machining operators.
