Jeff Mervis, is deputy news editor of Science magazine, overseeing the journal's news coverage of science policy issues from the magazine's headquarters in Washington, D.C. He has been a science writer for the past quarter-century, serving as the founding news editor of The Scientist and news editor of Nature before joining Science magazine in 1993.
